Responsibilities of the Position

V of the MBC constitution.)
The
Executive Minister shall:
- Serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Minnesota Baptist
Conference;
- Lead the MBC in developing and fulfilling its vision and mission;
- Affirm the baptistic heritage of the MBC and its unique character
as represented in the BGC Identity Statement;
- Execute the decisions of the MBC Annual Meeting and those of
the Board of Stewards, informing members of the progress of the
MBC in achieving its objectives;
- Develop a team of competent staff through selection, compensation,
training and regular evaluation and shall oversee the management
of the MBC Conference Center;
- Monitor the financial operations of the MBC by working with
the Stewards in presenting the MBC with an annual budget, raising
the support, and maintaining effective accounting practices;
- Along with the MBC Directors, oversee ministries to the MBC
churches to assist them with placement, crisis management, and
growth and development;
- Along with the MBC Directors, encourage the fellowship and
development of MBC pastors, provide counseling for them as needed,
and oversee pastoral placement;
- Seek to maintain an effective relationship with the Baptist
General Conference, representing the interests of the MBC in
the Conference, and also seek to maintain an effective relationship
with the wider evangelical community;
- Provide for a representative from the MBC at all events and
occasions where a representative spokesperson is expected, whether
within the MBC or in other relationships;
- Submit a report at each regular meeting of the Board of Stewards;
- Be an ex-officio member of the Board of Stewards and of all
MBC committees;
- Be accountable to the Board of Stewards of the Minnesota Baptist
Conference;
- Have a detailed and updated job description provided by the
Board of Stewards;
- Undergo a comprehensive constituent review of the Executive
Minister’s work and annual performance evaluations carried
out by the Board of Stewards.
